Film Industry Development
Film industry has changed a lot in terms of the production, distribution as well as consumption.
Before new digital media the production process was very long such as the editing process of the film where there the film will be edited in the red room and the techniques used were very simple and limited. However, the new digital technology has made it much easier to make films such as the cost is very low and anyone can produce a film with their smartphone and edit it using complex editing techniques on the software. Before the new media technology the cost of the film production was very high. following on, the shooting with digital technology is much easier since the it takes less time and you can do more with that time. however, before the NMDT the film making process will be very long due to the lack of equipments, getting the right angles and shots.
With the new digital media technology films now can be distributed in other ways than only the traditional way which is realsing it into the cinemas, now the film can be released on Netflix, YouTube as well as Amazon Prime where the audience can easily have access to the film and also it's much quicker than going to the cinema or going to a sotre like Hmv and buying the DVD. Fore example, Ricky Gervais decided to release his film on Netflix rather than in cinema, he said that as an artist you want as many people as possible to watch his film and since Netflix is one of the biggest streaming site contiaing 75 million suscribers many people would watch the movie on Netflix rather than going to cinema or buying a DVD. He also, said that "Netflix has given me the money that the film might have made in the cinema"
The audiences has more choice rather than just going to the cinema the traditional way. Also, they can interact with other consumers on the websites and talk about the movie trailers when they're bookiong the tickets for programmes.
